Our client is a well-established international organisation operating within the healthcare sector, with a strong presence across multiple European markets and a focus on delivering high-quality operational and business support services.
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable (AP) Team Lead to support their Business Centre in Sofia.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a newly formed team from the very beginning, contribute to building efficient and scalable processes, and collaborate with colleagues across Europe in a dynamic and international environment.
Job Profile for AP Team Lead
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Lead day-to-day Accounts Payable operations, ensuring accurate invoice processing, timely payments, and effective vendor management
- Supervise, coach, and develop AP team members while setting clear priorities and maintaining high service levels
- Oversee the transition of AP activities, including knowledge transfer, process documentation, and stabilisation
- Identify process gaps and drive improvements, standardisation, and automation across AP workflows
- Collaborate with Procurement, Treasury, and other finance teams to ensure smooth end-to-end processes and resolve escalations
Candidate Profile for AP Team Lead
- Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in AP within a complex, preferably international or shared services environment
- 3+ years in a people leadership or coordination role, with proven ability to motivate and develop teams
- Strong knowledge of AP processes, internal controls, and core accounting principles
- Experience with process transitions, shared service environments, or centralisation projects is considered a strong advantage
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities across international teams
- Proficient in ERP systems, with a strong focus on process optimisation and continuous improvement
- Ability to thrive in a fast-growing, dynamic, and international environment
