Description

Our client is a global and fast-growing company, specialised in the production of home and personal care products, hygiene disposables, and packaged snack foods. We are looking for a dedicated Project Engineer to join their expanding team in Shumen. 

Job Profile for Project Engineer
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Lead engineering and investment projects from concept development and specification through to installation, commissioning, and handover
  • Prepare technical specifications, manage tendering processes, and select suppliers and contractors
  • Coordinate all project phases, including engineering design, equipment supply, installation, commissioning, and final acceptance
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, risks, and on-site execution
  • Design and lead engineering projects to ensure improvements in output, cost, quality, and safety
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (Production, Maintenance, Quality, HSE, Procurement, Finance)
  • Report project progress to the Head of Global Business Unit and Head of Supply Chain, and support operational readiness

Candidate Profile for Project Engineer

  • Must be fluent in Bulgarian and English, both written and spoken
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronic, Electrical, Civil, or Building Services Engineering
  • 2–4 years of experience in industrial, manufacturing, construction, or MEP projects
  • Experience in industrial plants or FMCG manufacturing is an advantage
  • Experience or exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma) and troubleshooting of production- or equipment-related issues
  • Proven ability in project planning, risk management, and resource coordination
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and industrial engineering principles
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, MEP, HVAC, and commissioning processes
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent) and project management software
  • Knowledge of quality, safety, and regulatory standards (e.g. ISO)
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively within cross-functional and matrix organisations
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Valid driving licence and own transport
