We are now looking for an experienced Broadcast Video Engineer to join their expanding team in Sofia and play a vital role in delivering effective training programs and supporting team development.
Job Profile for Broadcast Video Engineer
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Configure and adjust video cameras for optimal picture quality, framing, and composition
- Set up and fine-tune studio lighting for production sets and green screen pods
- Install, connect, calibrate, and monitor audio equipment, including microphones, mixers, and speakers
- Ensure proper signal transmission across video and IP cables
- Troubleshoot issues related to cameras, lighting, audio, networking, or other broadcast systems
- Stay current with emerging technologies, like NDI, and integrate them into workflows
- Perform daily system checks, signal path verification, sync lock testing, and redundancy validation
- Operate and maintain video equipment, including vMix and control room systems across 60+ gaming pods
- Resolve video-related issues promptly to minimise stream disruptions
- Maintain and document broadcast SOPs, technical configurations, and handover logs
- Escalate issues to Technical Management when thresholds are breached
- Oversee table onboarding, test streams, and platform publishing
- Provide training and guidance to junior operators
Candidate Profile for Broadcast Video Engineer
- Must be fluent in Bulgarian and English, both written and spoken
- 3+ years of experience in a live production or broadcast studio environment
- Familiarity with RTS intercom systems, Skaarhoj controllers, or VM-based automation
- Working knowledge of FFmpeg, SRT, RTMP, and encoder configuration
- Advanced knowledge of NDI signal flow and IP video routing
- Familiarity with Dante audio networks and TAG monitoring systems
- Background in AV systems, broadcast engineering, or live streaming production
- Experience in regulated environments (casino, gaming, betting, etc.) is a plus
- Proven expertise with vMix, including multi-input switching, scripting, and multiview configuration
- Participation in studio planning, camera layouts, or redundancy protocol design is a strong advantage
- Experience managing studio infrastructure with multiple camera inputs (≥15 sources)
- Excellent problem-solving and shift coordination skills
- Ability to stay calm and decisive under broadcast pressure
