Supplier Quality Engineer – Bulgarian & English

For our client, a global innovator and manufacturer of linear motion and actuation solutions used in assembly automation, medical applications, and mobile machinery, we are looking for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer to join their expanding team in Sofia. 

Job Profile for Supplier Quality Engineer
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Contribute to the enhancement of processes, work instruction and templates used for the supplier audit and qualification
• Carry out validation audits, with supplier support and advanced product quality planning (APQP)
• Lead the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing and technology capabilities as well as Health, Safety and Environmental risks
• Ensure supplier fulfilling environmental compliance REACH, ROHS, CMRT, etc.
• Support new product launches to ensure that supplier quality meets the required standards
• Work with Design and Manufacturing Engineering teams to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective in meeting product and delivery requirements
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions of supplier quality issues to effectively resolve problems
• Work with suppliers directly, and create corrective action plans to address process failures
• Perform on-site supplier visits for verification of corrective actions of quality issues
• Collate and evaluate environmental data to identify process improvement opportunities
• Review manufacturing processes and collaborate with suppliers on improvements and value enhancement opportunities
• Promote the use of improvement techniques, such as Lean Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), Measurement System Analysis and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
• Provide concise, complete and accurate documentation of inspection results. This can refer for example to supporting inspection and test status requirements defined by regulations, engineering product specifications or Control Plans, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) approval or product warrant submission (PWS)
• Facilitate the escalation of unresolved supplier quality issues
• Report on supplier product quality and performance
• Organise training in quality awareness
• Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity related to product, process or system
• Manage and coordinate supplier Parts per Million (PPM), including cost recovery, warranty indicators and problem-solving punctuality
• Lead supplier quality audits
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities

Candidate Profile for Supplier Quality Engineer

• Must be fluent in Bulgarian and English, both written and spoken
• Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance or similar. Technical or business degree (BS or BA) or equivalent knowledge and skills acquired through relevant training and certifications
• 5 years of experience in a similar position
• Previous experience working in Quality Assurance and supplier quality development
• Familiarity with quality and business systems
• Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process(PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis(FMEA)
• Lean manufacturing knowledge
• Knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 9001, ISO45001 and ISO14001
• Knowledge of relevant environmental compliance obligations (REACH, ROHS, CMRT)
• Team player mentally
• Unquestionable business ethic
• Strong organisation and communication skills
• Able to work in an international environment
• Willing to travel – 20%
