Our client is a leader in the production and trade of power transformers and on-load tap changers delivering innovative and high-performance solutions for the energy sector, focusing on quality, sustainability, and customised products tailored to a client’s specific needs.
They are looking for an experienced and ambitious Quality Assurance Manager to take charge of the quality department at their production facility in Sofia.
Job Profile for Quality Assurance Manager
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Define and implement the quality strategy in line with business objectives
- Lead the Quality & Continuous Improvement and HSE teams, supporting their development and performance
- Improve customer satisfaction and reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ)
- Act as the main escalation point for critical customer quality issues
- Lead plant audits, assessments and quality system implementation, driving process development and improvement
- Ensure consistent quality standards, processes and best practices across manufacturing sites
- Develop and maintain the business process management system, oversee ISO certifications and ensure effective quality documentation, including FMEA, Control Plans and SOPs
- Drive Lean initiatives and continuous improvement programmes
- Collaborate with Operations, Engineering and Product Management to improve quality and operational performance
- Build, coach and develop high-performing, diverse quality teams
Candidate Profile for Quality Assurance Manager
- Must be fluent in Bulgarian and English, both written and spoken
- Degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in quality, engineering or manufacturing operations, including 2+ years in a leadership role within an international organisation
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, FMEA, Statistical Process Control (SPC), root cause analysis and Lean methodologies
- Experience with the assembly of transformers, tap-changers and high-voltage products
- Familiarity with IATF and VDA standards is an advantage
- Auditor certification is an advantage
- Strong analytical, communication, change management and team leadership skills
