Our client is a certified plant-based hair- and skin-care brand, fusing nature’s alchemy to deliver high-performing products full of nourishment for the overall well-being. All their products are hand-made, cruelty-free and are stored in environmentally friendly packaging.
Currently, they are looking for a motivated R&D Cosmetics Scientist to join their team in their Limassol factory.
In this role, the successful candidate will combine hands-on quality control throughout the manufacturing process of cosmetic emulsions, including creams, serums, gels and shampoos, with the practical evaluation, optimisation and adjustment of formulations at both pilot and production scale.
Job Profile for R&D Cosmetics Scientist
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Develop new herbal products and improve or adapt existing formulations
- Reproduce existing products in-house based on established formulations
- Re-engineer formulations to optimise product quality and manufacturing performance
- Evaluate and select suitable raw materials and active ingredients
- Diagnose formulation issues and develop effective solutions
- Establish and conduct stability testing and quality-control procedures
- Prepare manufacturing instructions, Product Information Files (PIF), stability reports, and batch records
- Ensure compliance with EU Cosmetic Regulation 1223/2009, CPNP notifications, and raw material specifications
- Scale formulations from laboratory to production and support initial production runs
- Contribute to research and innovation projects and provide guidance to junior engineering staff
Candidate Profile for R&D Cosmetics Scientist
- Must be fluent in English, both written and spoken
- A strong academic background in Cosmetic Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy or a closely related field
- Real hands-on R&D or formulation experience in cosmetics or a closely related field – developing, reproducing, evaluating and improving formulations, including building formulations from scratch
- The ability to diagnose formulation problems and re-engineer products
