We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Controller to join our great back-office team in Varna. The back-office team takes care of all the Finance, HR, Operations and Facilities matters for all Blue Lynx offices. In the role, you will have the amazing opportunity to support us with all internal back-office duties but also deal with our prestigious clients and work on exciting projects.

Job Profile for Senior Controller
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
- Provide detailed financial reports, analysis, and recommendations to the C-level team to support decision-making processes
- Oversee management accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cost control
- Develop and manage the company’s annual budget, working with department heads to consolidate forecasts and ensure alignment with company objectives
- Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts, providing analysis of variances and recommending corrective actions as needed
- Partner with C-level executives to develop long-term financial strategies aligned with business goals
- Provide financial insights, risk assessments, and recommendations for new business opportunities or cost-saving initiatives
- Maintain a hands-on approach in managing day-to-day financial processes, including data entry, reconciliation, and the preparation of key financial documents
- Ensure the timely closing of monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts
- Use advanced Microsoft Excel skills to build financial models, analyse large data sets, and automate reporting processes
- Generate in-depth financial analyses using Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling, etc.) to support operational and strategic decisions
- Implement, maintain, and improve financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance
- Ensure that day-to-day accounting operations (AP/AR, payroll, general ledger) are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Conduct regular financial audits and recommend improvements for operational efficiency
- Mentor and develop junior team members, providing guidance, training, and professional development opportunities
- Foster a proactive, collaborative working environment and ensure efficient workflows within the accounting department
Candidate Profile for Senior Controller
- Must be fluent in Bulgarian and English, both written and spoken
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive Accounting/Finance experience, with at least 3-5 years as a Senior Controller or similar leadership role
- Expertise in financial reporting, management accounting, and budgeting
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced level: pivot tables, macros, data modeling)
- Strong analytical abilities, with a track record of proactive problem-solving and decision-making
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing teams
- Possess a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, especially under tight deadlines
- Able to work independently, take initiative, and drive results in a fast-paced environment
